The Northern Lakes Economic Alliance in partnership with Networks Northwest invites all DDA members throughout the Northwest Region to join together in a discussion of topics important to downtown success. Following are details for the upcoming meeting.

Representatives from the Department of Natural Resources, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Up North Trails, and local Community Foundations will share the tools and resources they have available to help your DDA develop, connect and promote recreational assets in and around your downtown.

Individuals in the beginning stages of starting a business, in need of accessing capital, or simply considering self-employment, will have the opportunity to attend a Starting a Business workshop Thursday, June 1, in Petoskey. The workshop is being offered by the Northwest Michigan Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in partnership with North Central Michigan College, from 9-11:30 a.m. in Room 536 of the North Central Student and Community Resource Center, 1515 Howard St. The workshop will be facilitated by SBDC Small Business Consultant Kathleen Bagley. Northeast MI Young Professional Networking Event – Cheboygan @ Mulligan's

The Talent Attraction committee of Northeast Michigan Council of Governments is hosting a networking night (and focus group) targeting the young professional age group (roughly 25-35) in the Cheboygan area.
