The Village of Mancelona has been the center of some commercial and residential development thanks to Anchor Management Group LLC . Jason Green ( pictured -R with Village President Mike Allison-L) is the contractor and investor for the group and has purchased 5 buildings in the last 3 years in the downtown area of Mancelona. He is putting work in to fix up both the interiors and exteriors. All of the apartments that are finished are currently occupied by tenants and 2 of the commercial storefronts have businesses operating as well ( one pictured below -L). Updating and renewing these downtown areas, while still trying to keep the historical integrity are key to economic development and can only help push Mancelona to create a greater downtown district. 

 

Currently, Green is working on his biggest project in Mancelona yet. The main floor of the building will be a store front space, with the back part and 2 ^nd floor being converted into a living area ( pictured below ). The goal is to change the mindset of the Village and show people how convenient the little town is. With a 20 minute drive to most of the bigger towns you are right in the middle of where you need to be.
